Get Beals：Homegrown hottie Jennifer Beals hits the town for a dangerous dance with the city's underbelly

Though she's had a great career, it would have been easy for Chicago native Jennifer Beals to go down in history as "the girl from Flashdance." Not that she hasn't shined since the welder-goes-ballerina tale hit screens in 1983, but sometimes such simplistic association is the cost of appearing in an iconic film. Then, in 2004, came the character of Bette in Showtime's The L Word—and Beals was recast as an icon for a new generation. Now she finds herself  flirting with yet another potentially imagealtering role, as superintendent Teresa Colvin on the new Fox cop show The Chicago Code, being filmed in Chicago, and scheduled to debut early next month. "She's the first female superintendent of the Chicago Police Department," says Beals, 47, who grew up in Altgeld Gardens and now lives in Los Angeles. "She's a complex character, in charge of 10,000 people, most of whom are men... it's attractive to play someone with that drive and focus."

Another bonus? Returning home to film. "It's been fun to catch up with friends and see how much the city has changed," says the married mother of one. This is the place, after all, where Beals cut her chops, acting at her alma mater, Francis W. Parker School, and the Goodman Theatre before heading off to Flashdance and Yale.

Even if Code runs 20 seasons, it's going to be hard to forget some of those Flashdance moves. "I did some of the dancing," she recalls. "I took some dance classes in Chicago. But none of the dancers that doubled me could even do all of the things I was being asked to do. It was a bit of a fantasy."

女王又搬到LA了嗎？還是為了新戲宣傳？男記者果然還只認得Flashdance，"Even if Code runs 20 seasons, it's going to be hard to forget some of those Flashdance moves."來，這一句應該改成："Even if Code runs 20 seasons, it's going to be hard to forget some of those The L Word scenes." 就算TCC演了20年，我們還是忘不掉TLW的xxoo...。記者先生最深得我心的是這句："Then, in 2004, came the character of Bette in Showtime's The L Word—and Beals was recast as an icon for a new generation."好啦！就算他閃過LGBT族群的明確說明，至少有看到JB再次變成"an icon for a new generation"這算對女王演TLW的肯定吧！

喜歡天文軟體，我大概可以猜到那幾款，其實iPad很適合親子互動教育，女王應該是跟小公主一起玩Angry Birds吧？還是用iPad唸童書給xxla聽？(快變成iPad宣傳文了，實在不想把它還給強者我朋友)

女王還是很關心同志議題don't ask don't tell, 這麼短的訪問一樣可以偷渡。(這個機場掃瞄是為某茶講的吧，小貝的另一半最近好像常出國，突然想起來女王的義大利話很溜，來演Room in Rome吧)。
